We are currently scheduling artists for next year. Our first workshops for 2026 are:

Gareth Reid 4th-8th May 2026

Gareth Reid is a Belfast-born portrait artist based in Glasgow, celebrated for his subtle, lifelike depictions and quiet emotional depth. He gained widespread recognition after winning Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year in 2017, earning the commission to paint Graham Norton for the National Gallery of Ireland. In 2023, Gareth was named Sky Portrait Artist of the Decade, with his winning portrait of Dame Judi Dench, later shown at the National Portrait Gallery in London. His work, which includes commissions for public figures, including King Charles, and private collectors, reflects a deep respect for observation and the inner world of his sitters.

Arthur Gain 21-25 September 2026

Arthur Gain is a contemporary figurative artist based in Barcelona, known for his expressive oil portraits that blend realism with emotional depth. Originally from Russia, he brings a quiet intensity to his work, exploring the subtleties of human presence and inner life.

After an earlier career in design and illustration, Arthur turned fully to fine art, developing a distinct painterly style rooted in observation, balance and atmosphere. His work has been exhibited internationally and recognised in several prestigious art competitions.

Alongside his studio practice, Arthur is a dedicated teacher who shares his knowledge through workshops and mentorship, helping other artists deepen their craft and artistic voice.
